Into The Rifts! #1 - Races & Subclasses!

Hello all!

We figured it's a great time to share more in-depth info on some elements of the Kickstarter before the next rift opens at €125k.

This time, let's dive into the races and subclasses!

Our boss monsters are the actual inspiration for our races and subclasses! 

We started with the idea: what if you could play the bosses yourself? 

With that as a starting point, we developed three races & subclasses. The Nightflame boss monster pictures above inspired us to create the Lycan Race and Paladin Subclass, Oath of the Nightflame. Combine these two and you'll get as close to The Nightflame as you can get as a player. The other two races are inspired by Cale (Lord of the Carcass) and Giga Mimic (Protein Overlord), giving us the Vineborne and Mimickin races respectively. The two remaining subclasses are druid subclass Circle of Undeath and the fighter subclass Wrestler.

Whether you feel like wrestling about like Giga Mimic or setting things ablaze like Nightflame... here's your window of opportunity!

Some may have already seen it come by, but here's a sneak peek at the book with the Lycan Race (clickety click). It also features three subraces, the Lupin, Tigris, and Ursa.

Combine this with the Oath of the Nightflame (or use it separately) and it makes for one heck of a beast! 

With the next stretch goal in sight, we're hoping to expand this with 5 more subclasses based on the monsters. What boss monster-inspired subclass would you like to see next? ;)

In future Into The Rifts! updates, we'll delve into other elements of Riftborne. Whether it's a deeper look into Arena Mode, the Cataclysm system,  or anything else you'd like to know more about! Let us know what you're most excited about hearing about and we'll be sure to check the rifts for info.

Projects we love

During the campaign, we met some incredible people with incredible projects! One project really killing it is Lore of Aetherra: Dark Symmetry. "With a 300+ page campaign setting and adventure, your party can continue the Lore of Aetherra saga or start fresh and uncover the mysteries of Chrysalea on your own. If you missed the first campaign, you're in luck! Pick up The Lost Druid as a part of several pledge tiers or as an add-on in both the Standard and Limited Editions. Together these two books form the first half of an epic saga that will take your players from level 1-10 with nearly 600 pages of content."

They're in their last 2 days and have some seriously cool art worth seeing!

Stretch goal #3 - Smashed! MORE BOSSES!!

Amazing work guys! We're humbled and excited! 

The rifts connect different universes, and as it happens, the highly popular Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt is now linked to ours!

2 Boss Monsters from Steinhardt straight onto your table with Riftborne!

The Sinner is a zealot that drags his long sword across continents as he cuts off limbs in atonement for his sins. The Executioner was developed together with our friend Evan (MonkeyDM from Steinhardt) and with its fiery Axe of Flames in hand takes beheadings very seriously, intent on ending all those that sinned. 

These Darksouls-inspired bosses will get their own, unique Primal Forms, battlemaps, and minis. 

These two minis will be included in the deluxe box, and will also be available as an add-on! The STLs will be added to the all-mini STL bundle, the statblocks will be included in the book and PDF, and the relevant battlemaps will be included on the reverse side of the battlemap posters in the game ready and above tiers. All in all, every tier will get to enjoy these two one way or another!

New Stretch Goals

We added a new stretch goal! What could it be?

Also, the next Stretch goal is set at €125K and will add 5 more ~A4-sized removable sticker sheets (each sheet has multiple stickers!) to add even more dynamics to your battles.

We'll send out another update in the next two days to give you guys more of a peek behind the scenes with Riftborne!

We did it! New Stretch Goal Unlocked!!! Tame Boss Monsters into Familiars!

AND MORE AMAZING NEWS AT THE BOTTOM

Invading monsters can be defeated... and tamed. Of course, you can't have your lethal, multi-wave monster boss battles without crafting familiars from their remains by the end of it! Gotta catch 'em all, you know? These familiars will go together with HELIANA'S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING's tamer subclass (unique system!) and are added content to our book, which is for all tiers! 

Who can get mad at Exo when he leaves behind an accidental rift to some place far? Especially when he looks at you with its adorable eyes! Whether it's Exo, all-that-glimmers fan(cat) Raya, or the hulk and bulk, Not So Giga Mimic⁠—these familiars are bound to steal your heart (and maybe even some gold while they're at it).

Surprise your players by having them tame all that cuteness above... from these big fellahs:

These three familiars will be joined by 2 more familiars, totaling 5! However, these last 2 are up to you! Once the Kickstarter concludes, we'll take you on a ride through the process to decide what two monsters from our selection would make an excellent familiar! Will it be a puppy-sized Nightflame, puppet spider, or one of the many other monsters that become tameable?

More to share! Now that we've made (and by now far surpassed) the €75K mark, we're well on our way to unlocking new bosses at €100K!! This is INSANE and so amazing!!

This is an amazing stretch goal that will affect everyone.

Not only will there be new mini's in the Deluxe Box and as a standalone add-on, but these monsters will also use the rift to find their way as new content for the book! Their content will be playable by all tiers and their STL files are included in the All-Mini's STL (digital files) add-on.

More on these new bosses once we hit the €100k! So let's get cracking! We have so much more stuff to share.

Riftborne Was Funded in Less Than A Day!!!! And we hit our first stretch goal!!!

We made it guys...! Thanks so much for the support.

Riftborne is now a fact and we're super excited! Another fact is that we've unlocked our first €50K Kickstarter Stretch Goal! 

This GM screen, featuring the mighty Rift Dragon and several other monsters will be available on the Deluxe Box tier, and can also be added as an add-on to any pledge!

The next stretch goal is set at 75k!!!

Ain't this little bugger quite the cutie? Word has it he may (or may not) be accidentally leaving rifts behind, endangering your party and luring in strong champions. I'm sure it'll all end well... right?

He won't be alone! Joining him will be other familiars that also go together with HELIANA'S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING's tamer subclass. But before we get there, let's get to that 75k next!!

We've also revealed new stretch goals (new bosses anyone!?) that will surely pique your interest. Tiny little spoiler: it's incredible!!

Let me mention once more how EXCITED we are!! THis is really great and we're so happy to have you all along for the ride.
