This has been a crazy wild ride, and we still have a few more days to go!

Let's hit as many more stretch goals as we can within the remaining time, so we can beef this baby up even more. And when I say beef,  I mean sorta like Giga Mimic beef.

GOLDEN RIFT DICE SET

With the latest stretch goal hit, we'll add the new Golden Rift Dice set to the add-ons.

Inspired by the exclusive d20, which some early backers caught on time, this dice set is ready to take your rolls by storm with the rift cracking through the dice's surface. 

NEXT: 2 MORE BOSSES (STL)

The next stretch goal on the horizon is at 200K. Straight from HELIANA'S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING, we would add two boss monsters to our Riftborne roster, the Magnetite Dragon and Dreamholder (mini design upcoming). Not only will it be added content in the book (for everyone!), but it would also add new STLs (digital files only) of these monster minis.

The Magnetite Dragon is an ancient ancestor of the metallic dragons full of magnetic-flavored madness, whereas the Dreamholder is an incorporeal version of the otherworldly eye monster (whose name may not be beheld), and can unleash a devastating array of eye beams against lucid dreamers who threaten to expel the Dreamholder from their mind.

Sounds cool, huh? Let's get it!

Projects we love

Hunter's Full Moon Trilogy (5e).  We met when Midnight Tower messaged us here in KS, and we're happy they did. Their project is looking like a real delight (minus the edible part). A Book with Three Fantasy Adventures set in the Wild. 160 Pages Filled with Exciting Quests, Dangerous Beasts, and Unique Lore (DnD/RPG). Be sure to check it right here, especially if you're into the untamed wilderness or remote villages, cuz' they've got a ton of those!

Heroes & Hardships Core Rulebook. Running a KS is introducing us to so many new creators, all with unique stories to tell. One such KS is H&H, a Universal RPG System using d10 dice pools that support any genre. With hundreds of options, create any character you can imagine. They have a really nice free teaser you can download if you check their page while it's live. Be fast as there's little less than a week to go.

Into The Rifts! #3 - Circle of Undeath & LAST 3 DAYS!

We want to take the time to share something new with you!

Circle of Undeath Subclass

The Circle of Undeath is inspired by Cale, Lord of the Carcass. We really wanted to push druids into a direction they haven't been taken before. Together with the Vineborne race, it makes for one wildlife-inspired machine.

"Druids from the Circle of Undeath see great artistry in the unwavering reclamation of nature, believing the purest way to protect and serve their world is using that which would otherwise go to waste."

Previously, they also covered the Oath of the Nightflame (Paladin) Subclass in another video.

3 MORE DAYS TO GO!

There are only 3 more days left of the campaign, and we are so close to hitting the next stretch goal. We could really use your help in reaching the next goal, so we can get you those slick two-boss STLs, and added book content. Share it with your peers and the world. We can use all the help we can get to make that last stretch and beef up the book for all tiers!

The last 3 days always have the potential to get the Kickstarter up by quite a bit, so everything's possible!

Stretch Goal #5 - Rocked! NEW SUBCLASSES!

This is great news! Another stretch goal passed with the €150K mark. 

We've unlocked 5 new subclasses as added content to the book (and pdf) for ALL tiers!

5 New Subclasses?

Heck yes! With this, the Riftborne book now tallies 3 races and 8 subclasses.

Our boss monsters are the actual inspiration for our races and subclasses. This time around, our inspiration is taken from Blodstadt, Jorogumo, and Sharkinator respectively. 

Path of the Crimson Whisper: Amidst the eerie silences of bloodstained halls and desolate ruins, it is said tainted whispers drift on the winds. Whispers that charm, hex, and dig their way into the souls of mortals, transforming them into ferocious, bloodthirsty monsters with an everlasting hunger for blood. Barbarians who seek out such dark magic are forever changed by it; their rages manifest as physical, gruesome transformations which grant them incredible strength, and their speech becomes a conduit for ancient whisper magic they use to curse and confound their foes.   

Pact of the Puppeteer: Puppeteers are warlocks who draw their power from the magic of demonic spider-gods, either by binding themselves to an arachnid companion, channeling their power through items and weapons using tainted silk thread or through ancient dark ritual, from infernal tomes long since forgotten. These mysterious individuals utilize web magic to aid in their adventures, puppeteering creatures into doing their bidding or sacrificing the souls of captured creatures to manipulate the webs of fate.   

The Drunken Gadgeteer: A drunken gadgeteer is born when sufficiently doused with barrels of rum and glittering booty. In such a perpetual state of inebriation, their creative ingenuity is left to run amok, throwing all logic out of the window in favor of creating the most outlandish contraptions known to mortal kind. Drunken gadgeteers are a wild force of intelligence and brevity, capable of assailing their foes with all manner of bizarre weapons, from liquor-fueled flamethrowers to buzzsaw-firing rocket launchers, making them a true chaotic force to be reckoned with.

Of the remaining 2 subclasses, one is loosely based on the Rift Dragon and will become a force to be reckoned with in any setting, and potentially integral to Riftborne lore. 

The last subclass is undecided-or rather after the KS concludes we'll hold a poll to decide what remaining bosses to take inspiration from for the final subclass. The options currently left are Raya Asghar, Naja, Elmrir, The Sinner, and The Executioner.

All of these new subclasses are still in the works! Once they reach a playable stage, we'll need your help in playtesting the content and being part of the process.

Is there anything else we can playtest right now?

Well, actually...

With their slender, skeletal figures buried beneath a mass of moss and writhing vines, it is easy to mistake a vineborne (click name for free PDF!) for flora, especially in the dense woodlands they call home.

In a future update, we'll share with you the perfect subclass to match with a vineborne,  the (druid) Circle of Undeath.

Into The Rifts! #2 - The Arena

Hello guys!

Here's an update to give you more information about The Arena!

So... what's The Arena?

The core focus of The Arena has always been battling—besting foes from different realms in combat, all while keeping the crowd entertained for added boons and effects.  

Let's dive into it more

• The Arena is an alternate setting for the book's boss battles 
• Hold Arranged Fights against champion bosses from other planes
• The new Applause Mechanic includes the audience's interaction and participation
• Use actions in different ways (guidance for GM, encourage players to be creative) to earn favor from the crowd using our Applause Mechanic—actions earn you more points than a BA.
• Specific Crowd-pleaser Tasks for each boss monster (i.e. grappling Giga Mimic earns you X points)
• Receive favors with accumulated points: magic items, blessings, or even a helpful fireball—from your adoring fans.
• Roll a d100 at the start of each round. Add favor. Rewards are better higher up.
• Finish the fight with a performance rating: thumbs up, thumbs down.

The Arena Skin

The Arena skin slots perfectly over your battlemaps. Swap out your battlemap for another one to open up a new rift and introduce a new champion!

The Arena Skin (physical) is included in the Core Box and above tiers, but can also be added as an add-on. 

And...

Ever noticed the icons on the boss monster pages?

Inspired by classic video games, it's worth noting that each boss comes with three different challenge ratings and is categorized on their play style. This will come into play when selecting bosses for your players or when Arranging Fights for The Arena.

Into The Wilds

Tom Cartos is not just a super nice guy, but also an incredible artist. He's finally started his Kickstarter to introduce y'all to his maps and he's hitting us with 180+ maps straight off the bat... insane!

Stretch Goal #4 Passed!! New Unlocks & More!

Hiya friends!

We've passed the 4th stretch goal: 125k! 

How cool is that! This news comes with a new stretch goal unlock, featuring more reusable stickers (vol. 2) for all Game-Ready and above tiers. It can also be added as an add-on.

Reusable Stickers?

Yes! Whether it's Cale - Lord of the Carcass's whipping vines, assets to fill the space, or you want to set the entire map on fire... we can and probably will, with tons of reusable stickers! We already had 5 sheets (each sheet with a bunch of reusable stickers), and with the latest stretch goal hit, we'll add another 5 sheets, each with unique removable stickers to dynamically alter the setting.

New Stretch Goals

As always, there are new stretch goals on the horizon! We also revealed a tad bit more about the dice stretch goal... while keeping most of it mysterious. ;) Keep hitting those stretch goals to find out!

Empty Box

We've received questions about including an empty box for those not on the Core Box or above tiers. We've now added an add-on that gives you the Empty Core Box, which when added as an add-on, will not be so empty anymore (we'll add your physical goodies inside it).
